સુન્દરકાંડ.
અથ ચતુઃપંચાશસ્સર્ગઃ||

શ્લો|| વીક્ષમાણસ્તતો લંકાં કપિઃ કૃત મનોરથઃ|
વર્થમાન સમુત્સાહઃ કાર્યશેષચિન્તયત્||1||

સ|| તતઃ કૃતમનોરથઃ કપિઃ લંકાં વીક્ષમાણઃ વર્ધમાન સમુત્સાહઃ શેષં કાર્યં અચિન્તયત્||

Then having achieved his objectives the Vanara looking at the city of Lanka with growing zeal thought over the remaining work.

શ્લો|| કિન્નુ ખલ્વશિષ્ઠં મે કર્તવ્ય મિહ સાંપ્રતમ્|
યદેષાં રક્ષસાં ભૂયઃ સંતાપજનનં ભવેત્ ||2||
વનં તાવત્ પ્રમથિતં પ્રકૃષ્ટા રાક્ષસા હતાઃ|
બલૈક દેશઃ ક્ષપિતઃ શેષં દુર્ગ વિનાશનમ્||3||
દુર્ગેવિનાશિતે કર્મ ભવેત્સુખપરિશ્રમમ્|
અલ્પયત્નેન કાર્યેઽસ્મિન્ મમસ્યાત્ સફલઃ શ્રમઃ||4||
યોહ્યયં મમ લાંગૂલે દીપ્યતે હવ્ય વાહનઃ|
અસ્ય સંતર્પણં ન્યાયં કર્તુમેભિર્ગૃહોત્તમૈઃ||5||

સ|| યત્ એષાં રાક્ષસામ્ ભૂયઃ સંતાપ જનનં ભવેત્ કિં નુ કર્તવ્યં મે ઇહ સાંપ્રાતં અવશિષ્ટં|| વનં પ્રમથિતં તાવત્ પ્રકૃષ્ટાઃ રાક્ષસાઃ હતાઃ | બલૈક દેશઃ ક્ષપિતઃ | દુર્ગવિનાશનં શેષં||દુર્ગે વિનાશિતે કર્મ સુખપરિશ્રમમ્ ભવેત્| અસ્મિન્ કાર્યે અલ્પયત્નેન શ્રમઃ સફલઃ સ્યાત્|| મમલાંગૂલે યઃ અયં હવ્યવાહનઃ દીપ્યતે અસ્ય એભિઃ ગૃહોત્તમૈઃ સન્તર્પણં કર્તું ન્યાયમ્||

'Presently the action that is left over as my duty is that action which will give more torment to these Rakshasas, The grove was destroyed. Powerful Rakshasas killed. One part of the army is destroyed. The destruction of the citadel is left. If the citadel is destroyed that action will be a happy conclusion. In this action success is there with a little effort. It is proper to satiate the fire burning on this tail with these best mansion'.

ભવનાગ્રેષુ લંકાયા વિચચાર મહાકપિઃ||6||
ગૃહાદ્ગૃહં રાક્ષસાનાં ઉદ્યાનાનિચ વાનરઃ|
વીક્ષમાણો હ્યસંત્રસ્તઃ પ્રાસાદાંશ્ચ ચચાર સઃ||7||

સ|| તતઃ પ્રદીપ્તલાંગૂલઃ મહાકપિઃ સવિદ્યુત્ તોયદઃ ઇવ લંકાયાઃ ભવનાગ્રેષુ વિચચાર||સઃ વાનરઃ ઉદ્યાનાનિ ચ પ્રાસાદાશ્ચ વીક્ષમાણઃ અસન્ત્રસ્તઃ રાક્ષસાનાં ગૃહાત્ ગૃહં ચચાર||

Then Hanuman with his glowing tail, looking like a cloud with lightning, wandered on the top of the mansions in Lanka. That Vanara wandered without fear seeing the gardens and mansions , moving from one house to the other house of the Rakshasas.

શ્લો|| અવપ્લુત્ય મહાવેગઃ પ્રહસ્તસ્ય નિવેશનમ્|
અગ્નિં તત્ર સ નિક્ષિપ્ય શ્વસનેન સમો બલી||8||
તતોન્યત્પુપ્લુવે વેશ્મ મહાપાર્શ્વસ્ય વીર્યવાન્ ||
મુમોચ હનુમાન્ અગ્નિં કાલાનલશિખોપમમ્||9||

સ|| મહાવેગઃ શ્વસનેન સમઃ બલી વીર્યવાન્ સઃ પ્રહસ્તસ્ય નિવેશનં અવપ્લુત્ય તત્ર અગ્નિં નિક્ષિપ્ય તતઃ અન્યત્ મહાપાર્શ્વસ્ય વેશ્મ પુપ્લુવે હનુમાન્ કાલનલશિખોપમમ્ અગ્નિં મુમોચ||

The mighty and speedy Hanuman , equalling the speed of Vayu, jumped on the mansion of Prahasta , setting the same to fire then jumped on the mansion of Mahaparsva. Hanuman looking like the fire at the time of dissolution set fire to the same.

શ્લો|| વજ્રદંષ્ટ્રસ્ય ચ તથા પુપ્લુવે સ મહાકપિઃ|
શુકસ્ય ચ મહાતેજાઃ સારણસ્ય ચ ધીમતઃ||10||
તથા ચેન્દ્રજિતો વેશ્મ દદાહ હરિયૂથપઃ|
જમ્બુમાલેઃ સુમાલેશ્ચ દદાહ ભવનં તતઃ||11||
રસ્મિકેતોશ્ચ ભવનં સૂર્યશત્રોઃ તથૈવ ચ|
હ્રસ્વકર્ણસ્ય દંષ્ટ્રસ્ય રોમશસ્ય ચ રક્ષસઃ||12||
યુદ્ધોન્મત્તસ્ય મત્તસ્ય ધ્વજગ્રીવસ્ય રક્ષસઃ|
વિદ્યુજ્જિહ્વસ્ય ઘોરસ્ય તથા હસ્તિમુખસ્ય ચ||13||

સ|| મહાતેજાઃ સઃ મહાકપિઃ તદા વજ્રદંષ્ટ્રસ્ય શુકસ્ય ધીમતઃ સારણસ્ય ચ પુપ્લુવે||હરિયૂથપઃ તથા ઇંદ્રજિતઃ વેશ્મ દદાહ|તતઃ જંબુમાલે સુમાલેશ્ચ ભવનમ્ દદાહ||રસ્મિકેતોશ્ચ ભવનં તથૈવ રક્ષસઃ સૂર્યશત્રોઃ ચ હ્રસ્વકર્ણશ્ચ દંષ્ટ્રશ્ચ રોમશસ્ય ચ(દદાહ)||રક્ષસઃ યુદ્ધોન્મત્તસ્ય મત્તસ્ય ધ્વજગ્રીવસ્ય વિદ્યુજ્જિહ્વસ્ય ઘોરસ્ય તથા હસ્તિમુખસ્ય ચ દદાહ||

The very brilliant and great Vanara jumped on the mansions of Vajradamshtra's, Suka's, wise Sarana's houses ( setting fire to the same). Then the best of Vanaras burnt the palace of Indrajit. Then he burnt Jambumaali's and Sumali's mansions. Then Rasmiketu's palace, similarly the mansions of the Rakshasas Hrasvakarna, DamShtra, Roma were burnt. Rakshasas Yuddhonmatta's, Matta's , DhvajagrIva's , Vidyujjihva's Ghora's similarly Hastimukha's mansions were burnt.

કુંભકર્ણસ્ય ભવનં મકરાક્ષસ્ય ચૈવ હિ||14||
યજ્ઞશત્રોશ્ચ ભવનં બ્રહ્મશત્રોઃ તથૈવ ચ|
નરાન્તકસ્ય કુંભસ્ય નિકુંભસ્ય દુરાત્મનઃ||15||
વર્જયિત્વા મહાતેજા વિભીષણ ગૃહં પ્રતિ|
ક્રમમાણઃ ક્રમેણૈવ દદાહ હરિપુંગવઃ||16||

સ|| કરાળસ્ય પિશાચસ્ય શોણિતાક્ષસ્ય ચ એવ હિ દદાહ| કુંભકર્ણસ્ય ભવનં મકરાક્ષસ્ય ચ એવ દદાહ||યજ્ઞશત્રોઃ ભવનં તથૈવ બ્રહ્મશત્રોઃ ચ નરાન્તકસ્ય કુમ્ભસ્ય દુરાત્મનઃ નિકુંભસ્યચ ભવનં દદાહ|| મહાતેજા વિભીષણ ગૃહં પ્રતિ વર્જયિત્વા ક્રમમાણઃ ક્રમેનૈવ હરિપુંગવઃ દદાહ||

Karala's , Pisacha's, Sonitaksha's mansions also were burnt. Kumbhakarna's palace, Makarakshasa's palace also were burnt. Yagnyasatru's mansion, similarly Brahmasatru's , Narantaks's, Kumbha's and the wicked Nikumbha's mansions were also burnt. Leaving the palace of the great Vibhishana proceeding in order the best of Vanara's burnt the mansions.

ગૃહેષ્વૃદ્ધિમતાં વૃદ્ધિં દદાહ મહાકપિઃ||17||
સર્વેષાં સમતિક્રમ્ય રાક્ષસેંદ્રસ્ય વીર્યવાન્|
અસદાથ લક્ષ્મીવાન્ રાવણસ્ય નિવેશનમ્||18||

સ|| મહાયશાઃ સઃ મહાકપિઃ રુદ્ધિમતાં મહાર્હેષુ તેષુ તેષુ ગૃહેષુ ઋદ્ધિં દદાહ|| વીર્યવાન્ લક્ષ્મીવાન્ સર્વેષાં સમતિક્રમ્ય અથ રાક્ષસેંદ્રસ્ય રાવણસ્ય નિવેશનમ્ અસસાદ||

The great Vanara burnt the wealth in wealthy ones mansions.The heroic and illustrious one after crossing the residences of all the Rakshasas reached the palace of Ravana, the king of Rakshasas.

શ્લો|| તતસ્તસ્મિન્ ગૃહે મુખ્યે નાનારત્ન વિભૂષિતે|
મેરુમંદર સંકાશે સર્વમંગળશોભિતે||19||
પ્રદીપ્ત મગ્નિ મુત્સૃજ્ય લાંગુલાગ્રે પ્રતિષ્ટિતમ્|
નનાદ હનુમાન્ વીરો યુગાન્ત જલદો યથા||20||

સ|| તતઃ હનુમાન્ નાનારત્ન વિભૂશિતે મેરુમંદર સંકાશે સર્વમંગળ શોભિતે તસ્મિન્ મુખ્યે ગૃહે લાંગૂલાગ્રે પ્રતિષ્ટં પ્રદીપ્તં અગ્નિં ઉત્સૃજ્ય યુગાન્ત જલદે નનાદ||

Then Hanuman set the palace decorated with different kinds of gems , filled with exquisite auspicious articles, a palace that was resembling mountains Mandara and Meru, on fire with tip of his burning tail. Then he roared like the thundering cloud at the time of dissolution.

શ્લો|| શ્વસનેન ચ સંયોગાત્ અતિવેગો મહાબલઃ|
કાલાગ્નિરિવ જજ્વાલ પ્રાવર્ધત હુતાશનઃ ||21||
પ્રદીપ્તમગ્નિં પવનઃ તેષુ વેશ્મ સ્વચારયત્|
અભૂચ્છ્વસન સંયોગાત્ અતિવેગો હુતાશનઃ||22||
તાનિ કાંચનજાલાનિ મુક્તામણિમયાનિ ચ|
ભવનાન્યવશીર્યન્ત રત્નવન્તિ મહાન્તિ ચ||23||

સ|| શ્વસનેન સંયોગાત્ હુતાશનઃ અતિવેગઃ મહાબલઃ પ્રાવર્ધત | કાલાગ્નિઃ ઇવ જજ્વાલ||પવનઃ પ્રદીપ્તં અગ્નિં તેષુ વેશ્મસુ આચારયત્ | શ્વસનસંયોગાત્ હુતાશનઃ અતિવેગઃ અભૂત્|| કાંચનજાલાનિ મુક્તામણિમયાનિ ચ રત્નવંતિ મહન્તિ ચ તાનિ ભવનાનિ અવશીર્યન્ત||

The association of wind the fire grew rapidly. It glowed like the fire at the time of dissolution. Aided by the wind the the fire spread in the houses. Association with wind made the fire grow very fast.The golden mesh work along with studded pearls and gems and the big ones and the palaces came crashing down.

શ્લો|| સંજજ્ઞે તુમુલઃ શબ્દોરાક્ષસાનાં પ્રધાવતાં|
સ્વગૃહ્વસ્ય પરિત્રાણે ભગ્નોત્સાહોર્જિતશ્રિયામ્||24||
નૂનમેષોઽગ્નિ રાયાતઃ કપિરૂપેણ હા ઇતિ|
ક્રન્દન્ત્યઃ સહસાપેતુઃ સ્તનન્થયધરાઃ સ્ત્રિયઃ||25||
કાશ્ચિદગ્નિ પરીતેભ્યો હર્મ્યેભ્યો મુક્ત મૂર્થજાઃ|
પતન્ત્યો રેજિરેઽભ્રેભ્યઃ સૌદામિન્ય ઇવામ્બરાત્||26||

સ||સ્વગૃહસ્ય પરિત્રાણે પ્રધાવતાં ભગ્નોત્સાહોર્જિતશ્રિયાં રાક્ષસાનામ્ નૂનમ્ એષઃ અગ્નિઃ કપિરૂપેણ આયાતઃ ઇતિ તુમુલઃ શબ્દઃ સંજજ્ઞે ||કાશ્ચિત્ સ્ત્રિયઃ સ્તનન્ધરાઃ મુક્તમૂર્ધજાઃ ક્રન્દન્ત્યઃ અગ્નિપરીતેભ્યઃ હર્મ્યેભ્યઃ સહસા પેતુઃ| અંબરાત્ અભ્રેભ્યઃ પતન્યઃ સૌદામિન્યઃ ઇવ||

Running to protect their own houses, unable to protect them Rakshasa were saying 'surely the fire has come in the form of the Vanara. A tumultuous sound arose. Some women breast feeding their babies, with hair let loose, shouting jumped out of burning mansions. And they looked like the lightnings dropping from the clouds.

શ્લો|| વજ્રવિદ્રુમ વૈડૂર્ય મુક્તા રજત સંહિતાન્|
વિચિત્રાન્ભવનાન્ દાતૂન્ સ્યન્દમાનાન્ દદર્શ હ||28||
નાગ્નિઃ તૃપ્યતિ કાષ્ઠાનાં તૃણાનાં ચ યથા તથા |
હનુમાન્ રાક્ષસેંદ્રાણાં વિશસ્તાનાં ન તૃપ્યતિ||29||
ન હનુમાદ્વિશસ્તાનાં રાક્ષસાનાં વસુન્ધરા||30||

સ|| સઃ વજ્રવિદ્રુમ વૈડૂર્ય મુક્તા રજત સંહિતાન્ વિચિત્રાન્ ભવનાત્ સ્યન્દમાનાન્ ધાતૂન્ દદર્શ||યથા અગ્નિઃ કાષ્ટાનાં તૃણાનાં ન તૃપ્યતિ તથા હનુમાન્ રાક્ષસેંદ્રાણાં વિશસ્તાનાં ન તૃપ્યતિ||

He saw pearls and silver mixed with diamonds and colorful corals in molten form dropping from the palaces. Like the fire which was not satisfied with dry sticks and grass , Hanuman was not satisfied with the number of dead Rakshasa nor was the earth satisfied with the
number of Rakshasasa killed.

શ્લો|| ક્વચિત્ કિંશુકસંકાશાઃ ક્વચિચ્છાલ્મલિસન્નિભાઃ|
ક્વચિત્કુંકુમસંકાશાઃ શિખાવહ્નેશ્ચકાશિરે||31||
હનૂમતા વેગવતા વાનરેણ મહાત્મના|
લંકાપુરં પ્રદગ્ધં તત્ રુદ્રેણ ત્રિપુરં યથા||32||

સ|| વહ્નેઃ શિખાઃ ક્વચિત્ કિંશુકસંકાશાઃ ક્વચિત્ શાલ્મલિસન્નિભાઃ ક્વચિત્ કુંકુમ સંકાશાઃ ચકાશિરે|| વેગવતા વાનરેણ મહાત્મના હનુમતા લંકાપુરં રુદ્રેણ ત્રિપુરં યથા પ્રદગ્ધમ્||

Flames of the fire shining at one place appeared like Kimsuka flowers, some other place appeared like Salmali flowers, and yet another place like Kumkum flowers. The speedy Vanara Hanuman burnt the city of Lanka like Rudra burnt down city of Tripura.

શ્લો|| તતસ્તુ લંકાપુર પર્વતાગ્રે સમુત્થિતો ભીમપરાક્રમોઽગ્નિઃ|
પ્રસાર્યચૂડાવલયં પ્રદીપ્તો હનૂમતા વેગવતા વિસૃષ્ટઃ||33||
યુગાન્ત કાલાનલતુલ્યવેગઃ સમારુતોઽગ્નિર્વવૃધે દિવિસ્પૃક્|
વિધૂમરશ્મિર્ભવનેષુ સક્તો રક્ષઃ શરીરાજ્યસમર્પિતાર્ચિઃ||34||
આદિત્યકોટીસદૃશઃ સુતેજા લંકાં સમસ્તાં પરિવાર્ય તિષ્ટન્|
શબ્દૈરનૈકૈ રશનિપ્રરૂઢૈર્ભિન્દન્ નિવાણ્ડં પ્રબભૌ મહાગ્નિઃ||35||

સ||તત્ઃ વેગવતા હનુમાતા વિશ્રુષ્ટઃ ભીમપરાક્રમઃ અગ્નિઃ ચૂડાવલયં પ્રસાર્ય પ્રદીપ્તઃ લંકાપુરપર્વતાગ્રે સમુત્થિતઃ||વિધૂમરસ્મિઃ ભવનેષુ સક્તઃ સમારુતાગ્નિ રક્ષ્ઃ શરીરાજ્યસમર્પિતાર્ચિઃ યુગાન્તકાલાનલતુલ્યવેગઃ વવૃધે||આદિત્યકોટિ સદૃશઃ સુતેજાઃ સમસ્તાં લંકાં પરિવાર્ય તિષ્ટન્ મહાગ્નિઃ| અનૈકૈઃ અશનિપ્રરૂઢૈઃ શબ્દૈઃ અણ્ડં ભિન્દન્ ઇવ પ્રબભૌ||

The fire lit by the speedy Hanuman who has fierce valor, created circles of fires which rose to the mountain top on which city of Lanka was sitting. The fire without smoke from the mansions, fanned by the wind, fire from the Rakshasa bodies which were offered upto the fire , grew at the speed of the fire at the time of dissolution. The radiant fire appeared like crores of Suns, surrounding and standing on entire Lanka. It was glowing with sounds, like the sounds produced by Indra's thundebolt , as through whole universe was breaking.

શ્લો|| તત્રામ્બરાદગ્નિરતિપ્રવૃદ્ધો રૂક્ષપ્રભઃ કિંશુકપુષ્પચૂડઃ|
નિર્વાણધૂમાકુલરાજયશ્ચ નીલોત્પલાભાઃ પ્રચકાશિરેઽભ્રાઃ||36||
વજ્રીમહેંદ્રસ્ત્રિદશેશ્વરો વા સાક્ષાદ્યમો વા વરુણોઽનિલો વા|
રુદ્રોઽગ્નિરર્કો ધનદશ્ચ સોમો ન વાનરોઽયં સ્વયમેવ કાલઃ||37||

સ|| તત્ર રુક્ષપ્રભઃ કિંશુકપુષ્પચૂડઃ અગ્નિઃ અમ્બરાત્ અતિપ્રવૃદ્ધઃ અભ્રાઃ નિર્વાનધૂમાકુલરાજયઃ નીલોત્પલાભાઃ પ્રચકાશિરે||અયં વાનરઃ ન| વજ્રી ત્રિદશેશ્વરઃ મહેન્દ્રઃ વા સાક્ષાત્ યમઃ વા અનિલો વા રુદ્રઃ અગ્નિઃ અર્કઃ ધનદશ્ચ સોમઃ સ્વયં કાલઃ એવ વા||

The fire spread intense brightness like the kimsuka flowers shooting upto the sky. The clouds engulfed by the smoke rising froom the subsiding fire was shining like blue lotuses. ' ' This not a Vanara. It is wielder of thunder bolt, the lord of the gods, Indra or Yama himself or wind god, Rudra or fire god, Sun or Kubera or moon or the god of death himself '.

શ્લો|| કિંબ્રાહ્મણઃ સર્વ પિતામહસ્ય
સર્વસ્ય ધાતુશ્ચતુરાનનસ્ય|
ઇહાsગતો વાનર રૂપધારી
રક્ષોપસંહારકરઃ પ્રકોપઃ||38||
કિં વૈષ્ણવં વા કપિરૂપમેત્ય
રક્ષો વિનાશાય પરં સુતેજઃ|
અનન્તમવ્યક્ત મચિન્ત્ય મેકમ્
સ્વમાયયા સામ્પ્રત માગતં વા||39||
ઇત્યેવમૂચુર્ભવો વિશિષ્ઠા
રક્ષોગણાસ્તત્ર સમેત્ય સર્વે|
સપ્રાણિ સંઘાં સગૃહાં સવૃક્ષામ્
દગ્ધાં પુરીં તાં સહસા સમીક્ષ્ય||40||

Or is it Grand father Brahma the supreme four faced god, enraged and arrived in the form of a Vanara to kill the clan of Rakshasas. Or else the infinite , indescribable, unthinkable one Vishnu , the Supreme god of great glory assuming the form of a Vanara by virtue of his own Maya come here to destroy the Rakshasas. Seeing that the city with all its homes with trees including all creatures has been burnt , many eminent men and Rakshasa collected together and spoke to each other.

શ્લો|| તતસ્તુ લંકા સહસા પ્રદગ્ધા
સરાક્ષસા સાશ્વરથા સનાગા|
સપક્ષિસંઘા સમૃગા સવૃક્ષા
રુરોદ દીના તુમુલં સશબ્દમ્||41||
હા તાત હાપુત્ત્રક કાન્ત મિત્ત્ર
હા જીવિતં ભોગયુતં સુપુણ્યમ્|
રક્ષોભિરેવં બહુધા બ્રુવદ્ભિઃ
શબ્દઃ કૃતો ઘોરતરઃ સુભીમઃ||42||

સ|| તતઃ સરાક્ષસા સાશ્વરથા સ નાગા સપક્ષિસંઘાઃ સ મૃગા સ વૃક્ષા લંકા સહસા પ્રદગ્ધા દીના તુમુલં સુશબ્દં રુરોદ|| હા તાત હાપુત્ત્રક હા કાન્ત હા મિત્ર ભોગયુતં સુપુણ્યં હા જીવિતં બહુધા બ્રુવદ્ભિઃ રક્ષોભિઃ ઘોરતરઃ સુભીષઃ શબ્દઃ કૃતઃ ||

Then with Lanka suddenly burnt along with Rakshasas, chariots with horses, with elephants with flocks of birds, with animals and trees , there arose a tumultuous piteous sound and they cried. Those Rakshasas speaking out in a terrific way made dreadful noise saying "Oh Father, Oh Son, Oh Dear,Oh Friend , that life which is enjoyable and pious has been destroyed '.

સ|| હુતાશનજ્વાલસમાવૃતા હતપ્રવીરાઃ પરિવૃત્તયોધા હનૂમતઃ ક્રોધબલાભિભૂતા સા લંકા શાપોપહતેવ બભૂવ||મહાત્મનઃ હનુમાન્ સસંભ્રમત્રસ્તવિષણ્ણરાક્ષસામ્ સમુજ્જ્વલજ્જ્વાલ હુતાશનાંકિતામ્ લંકાં સ્વયમ્ભૂકોપોપહતાં અવનિં ઇવ લંકાં દદર્શ||

Engulfed in the flame spread by the fire god, with its heroes dead, with its retreating troops, with the power of the anger of Hanuman, the city of Lanka appeared as if it was cursed. Higly sensitive Hanuman saw the city of Lanka which succumbed to flames of fire god , with the Rakshasas perplexed scared and sorrowful, looked as if the earth was hit by the anger of Brahma.

હત્વાતુ રક્ષાંસિ મહાન્તિ સંયુગે|
દગ્ધ્વા પુરીં તાં ગૃહરત્ન માલિનીમ્

સ||પવનાત્મજઃ હનુમાન્ પાદપરત્નસંકુલં વનં ભુંક્ત્વા સંયુગે મહન્તિ રક્ષાંસિ હત્વા ગૃહરત્નમાલિનીં તાં પુરીં દગ્ધ્વા તસ્થૌ|| વિચિત્રે ત્રિકૂટ સંગાગ્રતલે પ્રતિષ્ટિતઃ પ્રદીપ્ત લાંગૂલકૃતાર્ચિમાલી વાનરરાજસિંહઃ અંશુમાલી આદિત્ય ઇવ વ્યરાજત||

Hanuman the son of wind god having destroyed the grove full of excellent trees, having killed many Rakshasas, burning the city with rows of beautiful houses , stood there. On the wonderful peak of Trikuta , with a glowing tail, the lion among the Vanaras , shone like the Sun with its brilliant rays.

શ્લો|| સ રાક્ષસાં સ્તાન્ સુબહૂંશ્ચ હત્વા
વનં ચ ભંક્ત્વા બહુપાદપં તત્|
વિસૃજ્ય રક્ષોભવનેષુ ચાગ્નિમ્
જગામ રામં મનસા મહાત્મા||47||
તતસ્તુ તં વાનરવીર મુખ્યં
મહાબલં મારુતતુલ્ય વેગમ્|
મહામતિં વાયુસુતં વરિષ્ટં
પ્રતુષ્ટુવુર્દેવગણાશ્ચ સર્વે||48||

સ|| મહાત્મા સઃ સુબહૂન્ તાન્ રાક્ષસાન્ હત્વા બહુપાદપમ્ તત્ વનં ચ ભંક્ત્વા રક્ષોભવનેષુ અગ્નિં વિશ્રુજ્ય મનસા રામં જગામ||તતઃ વાનરવીરમુખ્યં મહાબલં મારુતતુલ્યવેગં મહામતિં વરિષ્ટં તં વાયુસુતં સર્વે દેવગણાઃ પ્રતુષ્ટુવુઃ||

The great Vanara having killed many Rakshasas, having destroyed the grove with many trees , having set fire to many palaces of Rakshasas , reached Rama in his mind. Then all the Devas praised the mighty, very wise, efficient, chief of Vanara warriors, who has the speed of the wind god, who is the son of wind god.

શ્લો|| ભઙ્‍ક્ત્વા વનં મહાતેજા હત્વા રક્ષાંસિ સંયુગે|
દગ્ધ્વા લંકાપુરીં રમ્યાં રરાજ સ મહાકપિઃ||49||
તત્રદેવાઃ સગંધર્વાઃ સિદ્ધાશ્ચ પરમર્ષયઃ|
દૃષ્ટ્વા લંકાં પ્રદગ્ધાં તાં વિસ્મયં પરમં ગતાઃ||50||

સ||મહાતેજઃ મહાકપિઃ વનં ભંક્ત્વા સંયુગે રક્ષાંસિ હત્વા રમ્યાં લંકપુરીમ્ દગ્ધ્વા રરાજ||તત્ર સગંધર્વાઃ દેવાઃ સિદ્ધાશ્ચ પરમર્ષયઃ દગ્ધાં તાં લંકાં પુરીં દૃષ્ટ્વા પરમમ્ વિસ્મયમ્ ગતાઃ ||

The very brilliant and great Vanara shone having destroyed the grove, having killed the Rakshasas in the battle, having burnt the beautiful city. Then all the Devas with Gandharvas , Siddhas , great Rishis, seeing the city of Lanka burnt were very much wonder struck.

શ્લો|| તં દૃષ્ટ્વા વાનરશ્રેષ્ઠં હનુમંતં મહાકપિં|
કાલાગ્નિરિતિ સંચિન્ત્ય સર્વભૂતાનિ તત્રસુઃ||51||

સ|| વાનરશ્રેષ્ઠં મહાકપિં તં હનુમંતં દૃષ્ટ્વા કાલાગ્નિઃ ઇતિ સંચિત્ય સર્વભૂતાનિ તત્રસુઃ||

Seeing Hanuman the best of Vanaras as if he were the fire at the time of dissolution all the beings were terrified.

શ્લો|| દેવાશ્ચ સર્વેમુનિપુંગવાશ્ચ
ગંધર્વવિદ્યાધરનાગયક્ષાઃ|
ભૂતાનિ સર્વાણિ મહાન્તિ તત્ર
જગ્મુઃ પરાં પ્રીતિમતુલ્યરૂપામ્||52||

સ||તત્ર સર્વે મુનિપુંગવાશ્ચ ગંધર્વવિદ્યાધરનાગયક્ષાઃ મહંતિ સર્વાણિ ભૂતાનિ અતુલ્યરૂપાં પરાં પ્રીતિં જગ્મુઃ||

Then all the sages, Gandharvas, Vidyaadharas, Nagas , Yakshas, all the creatures experienced great happiness.

ઇત્યાર્ષે શ્રીમદ્રામાયણે આદિકાવ્યે વાલ્મીકીયે
ચતુર્વિંશત્ સહસ્રિકાયાં સંહિતાયામ્
શ્રીમત્સુન્દરકાંડે ચતુઃપંચાશસ્સર્ગઃ ||
